Young leader Hardik Patel who has been described as the new face of Gujarat well known for his agitation along with other patels of this country to grant all Patel community with the reservation status of OBC is in news once again as he is threatening to disrupt proceedings at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium which is the venue to the third one day international between India and South Africa. Hardik Patel is also the head of the Gujarat patidar community. Many a times in the past, Hardik Patel managed to bring Gujarat to a stand still with his huge crowd support during agitation stir. This time Hardik Patel has targeted the 3rd One day international match between India and South Africa which would be played on Sunday 18th October 2015, and has said that he along with his supporters would not allow both the Indian and the South African teams to enter the stadium. Due to this threat the Rajkot administration banned mobile internet services in the district. The services will remain suspended from 10pm tonight till the end of the match on Sunday. The ban comes a day after Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel threatened that he would block the way of Indian and South African cricket teams to the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) stadium and not let them enter the venue. Rajkot stadium has also been fortified to ensure smooth conduct of the match.

The 22-year-old leader today said that he and his supporters have got tickets for the match and they will go to the stadium.
He has also urged the Patel community members to remain present in large numbers during the match to raise their demand for reservation under OBC quota for which they have been agitating over last two months.
“We have asked around 50,000 community members to rush to the SCA stadium tomorrow for agitation,” the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) convener said.

“My match ticket has been purchased by Rajkot unit of PAAS and I am going to attend the match tomorrow,” he said.
In the wake of the threat and the violence that the state witnessed recently over the quota stir, police have fortified the stadium, located on the outskirts of Rajkot city at Khandheri village, which will host the third ODI match under the Gandhi-Mandela freedom series.
“Over two thousand policemen, three companies of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), one company of Rapid Action Force (RAF), and seven teams of quick response cells (QRC) and five Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the match,” Rajkot Range IG DR Patel said. according to NDTV reports.
